Inkquill

a mac app by inkbench

A quiet page for the whole book.

One plain file per chapter, on your Mac. Your AI stays out until you switch it on.

01

A page that stays quiet

Panels hide while you write. Not sure of a detail? Flag it and keep going.

Chapters, cards and cut scenes sit one click away. The page shows a word goal, a count and no AI control.

02

A story bible your AI reads

Characters, places and items each get an entry, kept in the book’s folder.

Notes in a separate doc drift from the draft. Switch your AI on and it checks each chapter against the bible.

03

Off for every book until you say so

Each AI edit made through Inkquill is marked as the AI’s. Roll any of them back.

If an AI edits your files some other way, the changelog shows it as a change made outside the app.

What you hand to your AI goes to that AI, the same as pasting it.

Bible checked, nothing changed.
04questions

Why pay when free apps exist?

Some are good. The $29 buys the whole book and its story bible as plain files, with reversible edits, yours or your AI’s.

Will my book train someone’s model?

Inkquill sends none of your writing to any AI until you connect one.

What your AI reads goes to it under your plan’s terms, so check its training setting.

Will my Word manuscript import?

Word, text or Markdown come in, with chapters, scene breaks and italics kept. EPUB and Word go out.

I already paste chapters into Claude.

Switch the book on and your AI reads the chapters and the story bible from its folder, with no pasting.

Each edit it makes is logged, and you can roll it back.

What do $19 and $29 mean?

The app costs $29 once, with no subscription and no Inkbench account. Early access gets you the same app for $19.

I don’t think it should be all AI or no AI.

In this app the choice is per book, and it starts off.

If you turn it on, every word your AI touches is logged, and you can undo it.
